1st Adenta District Funfair

Senco Homes

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Funfair was hosted by hosted by Oriens Complex School – Adenta dubbed Learn, love and have fun. The scouting movement is a movement that aims to support young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, that they may play constrictive roles in society, with a strong focus on the outdoors and survival skills.

As regards, the Adenta district scout proceeded to organize their 1st ever Funfair in history within their municipalities aimed at enabling the young people in the district to know the essence of scouting in their various schools and communities. Scouting is that, most cases people see it as only centred as marching or drills.

[ads1]To devoice young people minds from that adage or perception, hence the event is to educate them on scouting activities, through fun and learning by doing as a scouting method.

Asserting from district commissioner’s report Mr. Holly Boadi (Sir Holly), he emphasized that on the need to be dancing and for that school must register with Ghana Scout Association for the membership drive.

The Funfair was hugely and massively participated by schools and community based scouts; like Helga International School, The Light Academy School, Christ Faith Mission School, Tot To Teen School, Shield International School, Oriens School, Royal community based scout and St. Monica’s School – Kwashiman.

The young people from said schools extremely exhibited their dexterities in various principal activities; horse riding, cycling, motor riding, arm wrestling, eating/cooking/drinking competition, rapping/singing/dancing , basketball, filing bottles, lime and spoon race, tug of peace, sack race, face painting and musical chairs.

The organizing team being Commissioner Holly Boadi, Commissioner Seth, Commissioner, Bela, Irene Idan, Precious, Gifty, Frank Sam, Gabi, Timothy Wuni [IT Expert] and Sympathy Launce [Event Organizer] also imbibed great ideas to the young people.

The inherent capabilities of these young people can/could not be left out, thereafter needs to be engaged through scouting so that the giants in them can/could be awaken. I believe leadership is not about titles, positions, or flow charts. It’s all about life influencing young people  same to be a good visionary leader there are a number of qualities like hardworking, honesty, professionalism, etc. one must exude and I certainly see scout/scouting advocacy as one remarked ,Sympathy Launce.
