The Deputy National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Kevin Elikem Kotoko, has been appointed the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission of Ghana.
Elikem, popularly known as the grassroots man, has social media pages flooded with many congratulatory messages.
Amid the release of the lists of appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama from January 7, 2025, Mr. Kotoko’s name was missing, with many NDC social media users expressing anxiety and expectation of seeing their “grassroots man” join the government appointees, considering the extensive work he done to contribute to the victory of the NDC at the December 7 polls.
Well, with this news of his appointment yesterday, it becomes like, “Finally”, their wish has come to pass.
Elikem, former General Secretary of the Ghana National Union of Polytecnic Students, also aspired to the position of NDC National Youth Organizer.
The Forestry Commission is a corporate body directly responsible to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. It regulates the utilisation of forest and wildlife resources and ensures the conservation and management of those resources as well as the co-ordination of policies related to them.
