Komfour Yaw on fight against corruption

Komfour Yaw, a renowned spiritualist, has proposed a radical solution to curb corruption and dishonesty among public office holders. Speaking to the press, the Asenmaso-Nkwanta-based spiritualist suggested that government officials should swear an oath to deities or shrines before assuming office.

“The Bible and Qur’an are no longer effective in keeping politicians honest,” Komfour Yaw observed. “They would lie under oath and do as they please once they’re in power. It’s time to go back to our traditional roots and make them swear by the Oath of our deities and shrines,” he explained.

Komfour Yaw expressed the opinion that African cultural values are essential in promoting integrity and accountability.

“Before the Bible came to Africa, our people were afraid to commit crimes or engage in bribery and corruption because they feared the consequences of our deities and shrines. We need to cherish our cultural heritage and use it to our advantage,” he argued.

He lamented that many Ghanaians perceive traditional beliefs as satanic or evil, despite the fact that corruption and bribery are rampant among office holders who have sworn oaths on the Bible and Qur’an.

“It’s time to amend the 1992 Constitution to include the Oath of deities and shrines. This will save our nation from wastage of funds and resources,” Komfour Yaw added.

The spiritualist further emphasized that, “Our deities and shrines are not to be feared, but respected. They are a part of our identity and can help us build a more honest and accountable society.”
