He said the current electoral college of 123 which favours a few should [ads1]be expanded to about 300 or 400 to enable other stakeholders in the football industry have a say in the running of the business.

Mr Achiaa popularly known as Agama made this statement in an interview with Accra based radio station, Happy FM.

He stated that as a matter of urgency, there should be a constitutional review on the composition of members of the Association who are eligible to vote.

He explained that if the Electoral College is expanded, it would prevent vote buying and other electoral malpractices and give room for more electorate to participate in the election process.

He also mentioned that the media was a key stakeholder in the running of football in the country; therefore, if the electoral college was expanded they could nominate sports journalists to vote.

He said other stakeholders like the Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) could also be included in the voting processes.

Mr Achaiw, however, expressed his disappointment about the Premier League Board’s (PLB) decision to suspend the Ghana Premier League for the just ended West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup.

He said the league could have been completed before the commencement of the tournament just as Nigeria did before emplaning to Ghana for the tournament.

He said such knee jerk decisions were some of the reasons why the premier league has mostly been described as unattractive.

Agama who was once a President of the Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA) advised current GFA President to reconsider his decision to contest for the FA Presidency again because he has a lot of portfolios, and needs time to run the FA but his current positions does not allow it.

He, therefore, wished that the FA President does not go for a re-run in 2019.
