Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joshua Hamidu Akamba has taken a swipe at President Akufo-Addo’s claims that he cannot hand over power to John Mahama because he would debase his legacy.

President Akufo-Addo cautioned Ghanaians against voting for John Mahama as Ghana’s next president, stressing that his second coming would be inimical to the country’s progress.

Reacting to Akufo-Addo’s remarks, Mr Akamba rebuffed such unfortunate comments, saying Mr Mahama cannot protect a legacy of grand scheme corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, untold economic hardships and unemployment coupled with a high cost of living.

“Your mate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated clearly that he’s coming with his own vision, and this is to tell you that he’s even running away from your legacy as President. So how do you expect John Mahama to continue your legacy of corruption and misgovernance?” he quizzed.

He reiterated that no serious politician including Dr Bawumia is ready to inherit President Akufo-Addo’s tainted legacy.

Mr Akamba added that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s distancing himself from Akufo-Addo’s legacy shows clearly that the NPP has woefully failed Ghanaians.

He urged Ghanaians to rally behind John Mahama and massively vote for NDC for a brighter future and economic freedom.
