The President and Registrar of the EP University College in the Volta Region of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose and Mr. Obed Adom have been honored with Ambassador for Peace Award by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF).
Rev. Dr. Fayose was decorated with the Ambassador for Peace medal on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 during the opening section of the 2017 West African Educator International Conference held at the Legon [ads1]Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy, University of Ghana.
Presenting the award citations and medals on behalf of UPF Global Office, the Secretary-General of Universal Peace Federation-Nigeria, Dr. Raphael Ogar Oko said the ambassador for peace awards is presented to honored and celebrate personalities with high integrity who are contributing to the peace and development of society. The Peace Ambassadorial title according to him presents a global mandate for the holders to further champion the work on peace in their local communities and around the world.
In his acceptance speech, Rev. Dr. Fayose said as a revered minister, he has been working for peace and fill honored and encouraged with the official peace ambassador title.
The 1st West African Educator International Conference which was on the theme “The Role of Educators in Addressing Emerging Challenges in West Africa” was organized by the EP University College in partnership Women in Colleges of Education- Nigeria, University Peace Federation-Nigeria, Africa Centre for Peace Building-Ghana and p powered by Senyo Global.
The Conference drew over 50 participants mainly educators and social workers from Nigeria and Ghana.
