The Rotaract Club of Evangelical Presbyterian University College, Ho (D9102) has donated hand washing pieces of equipment to the Tanyigbe Dzafe M.A Primary School on Thursday, to mark this year’s Global Handwashing Day.
[ads1]The club used the opportunity to sensitize the students and staffs on the need to always keep their hands clean.
This year’s Global Handwashing Day theme focused on the links between handwashing and food – including food hygiene and nutrition.
Hand Washing is an important part of keeping food safe, preventing diseases, and helping children and everyone grow strong. The tagline, Clean hands – a recipe for health, reminds us to make handwashing a part of every meal.
Here are a few ways we can make a difference with this Global Handwashing campaign:
Wash hands with soap at critical times, especially before eating, cooking, or feeding others.
Model good handwashing behavior, and remind or help others to always wash their hands before eating.
Make handwashing part of your family meals.
Establish places to wash your hands in the household, in your community, in schools, workplaces, and in health facilities.
The management of the school expressed their delight and appreciation for the initiative and are calling on other civil society organisations to develop mechanisms in identifying schools in need in such deprived communities.
