Miss Elorm Precious Tettey on Saturday was crowned Miss Volta Ghana 2018 as the Queen.

Elorm is a student of Akatsi College of Education and represented the Aflao Traditional Council in the contest.
The competition started with auditions at both Sogakope, Ho and Hohoe and finally made it to the top 8 beautiful ladies for the contest.

The event which was held on January 8, 2018 at the GNAT Hall in Ho saw eight beautiful contestants battle for the ultimate prize.

The other winners were Asimah Elizabeth Delali from Peki who was 1st Runner up and Agyekum Yayra Love mark from Abutia as 2nd Runner up.

Speaking to Awake News after the event, Ms Eloem said she has always wanted an opportunity to bring education to the door steps of the under privileged.

“I have always wanted to help brilliant but needy students in less privileged communities by advocating for ‘Education For All’, and to also promote the culture and creative arts industry in the Volta Region and beyond” she said.

According to visionary Elorm, she started working towards this dream since 2014 in Aflao with the aim to empower every girl child in Volta and beyond thus her first pageant and crown Miss Godigbe 2014 which gave her the opportunity to empower girls in some selected schools in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta region.

After Miss Godigbe which is the Annual Traditional Festival of the people of Aflao Traditional Council, she won Face of the Teacher Trainee Association of Ghana, TTAG Volta, 2017 which catapulted her to the National level.

She deemed it very necessary to thank friends who were very supportive not forgetting Miss Ehor Fafali Gifty, Miss Atatsi Laura and Divine Kporha who is currently the Volta Regional NUGS President.

She further expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the organizers of Miss Volta Ghana, the people of Aflao Traditional Council, students, her family and everyone who voted for her
Elorm believes that empowering the girl child is the way to go.

To achieve that, she envision soliciting for funds and going round all basic schools in the Volta region especially the ones in the deprived areas to speak with the girls and donate items to the brilliant but needy ones and eventually establish a Girl Child Club in most of the schools to make her dream a reality.
