The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to provide tuition-free education for first-year students at all public universities across the country.
Speaking at the NDC Youth Manifesto launch at the University of Professional Studies in Accra, the former President revealed that the initiative is part of reforms aimed at making higher education more accessible, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“We will create an enabling environment for young people to thrive and lay a foundation for prosperous Ghanaians not just a few,” he said.
According to Mr. Mahama his future government “ will increase access to quality education from the basic and second cycle to tertiary levels as well as affordable healthcare and numerous job creation programmes”.
