Additionally, EC has set a Ghc 10,000 filing fee for parliamentary candidates for the December 7 polls.

Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa, announced the fees to the media on Monday, September 14, 2020, at a press conference held in Accra.

She noted that the nominations for parliamentary and presidential elections are to be filed from Monday 5th to Friday 9th October 2020.

The filing fees are to be paid in banker’s draft, according to her.

Presidential candidates in the 2016 Elections paid Ghc 50,000 as the filing fee.

Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Mahama, are the two leading candidates for the 2020 general elections.
