The National Youth Authority has been rcked with confusion following revelations that the authority has allegedly breached procurement rules in engaging Prefos Ltd to train 500 young people to instal, maintain and repair streetlights at the whooping cost GHS4.5 million.

The Cheif Executive of the Authority has alleged Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri been forced to resign following a directive from the Cheif of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare to do so.

Today, it has been reported that some other board members of the authority have been fingered making huge monetary demands from Chief Executive Officer.

Reports said that, a leaked Whatsapp chats from these implicated board members revealed they were demanding amounts ranging between GH¢200,000 and GH¢300,000 which they termed “mega package”.

But speaking to Awake News, Efo Worlanyo said the resignation of the CEO and the members is not enough and that will drag them to the Special Prosecutor for prosecution.

For him, it is unthinkable the level of a weekly corruption scandal that is being produced the Akufo-Addo/Bawumai led NPP government.

“The NYA is there to help improve the lives of young people in the country and if is turning out that irrespective of the joblessness and lack other positive opportunities that has hit this country, Nana Addo and his appointees will spend over GHc4million in just training 500 their party people in street light repairs, then, I am afraid” –

“Is only the Special Prosecutor that can tell Ghanaians what that should be called especially when procurement breaches are being alleged” – He added
