The research was carried out extensively across the five traditional zones within the Ketu South Constituency, namely Aflao Urban, Aflao Wego, Somey Fugo, Somey Wego and Klikor. The findings of  the research organization which is specialized in unbiased and fairly accurate research into the strong/weakholds of parliamentary aspirants across the length and width of the Volta region as well as helping delegates make informed decisions as to the right candidates  to choose for the 2020 general elections placed the former deputy minister ahead of four other contenders who have all filed their nominations to contest the Primaries.

She polled 52% whiles her closet contender Fogah Desdedy Nunuku polled 44% with Joseph Kwasi Nyavi polling 35%. Nicholas Ezo Worclachie polled 17%  while the second woman in the race Caroline Kudah-Parker   polled 12%.

The group engaged 1040 delegates in it’s work representing 56% of total delegates numbering 1872 with 5 delegates chosen at random from each of the 208 branches making up the Constituency and employed the use of questionnaire in obtaining primary data from the public.

Scorpion Research in it’s conclusions observed that  Mama Dzifa Gomashie secured the 52%  because of her popularity in the Constituency coupled with her touch with the grassroots. Having chalked a neck to neck feat with her closest contender Fogah Desdedy Nunuku in Aflao Urban where majority of the the delegates come from, the survey had now put her in a pole position to become the successor to  Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey  who is hanging his shoes after serving two successful terms as MP for the area.

Ketu South is one of the 18 municipalities in the Volta region. It spreads over a land area of 1,130sqkm into the South/Eastern part of the region. The municipality is boarded to the North by the Ketu North municipality. To the South by the Gulf of Guinea. To the East by the republic of Togo and to the West by the Keta municipality.

By it’s strategic location, a common boarder with the republic of Togo, the municipality/ Constituency serves as the Eastern gateway to Ghana where bustling cross- boarder commercial activities occur on a daily basis.
