Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has pointed out that his side fell short against Egyptian side Zamalek due to a lack of experience. Zamalek overcame the Ghanaian FA Cup champions and the Confederation Cup surprise package at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on April 28, 2024.

“It’s lack of experience. The boys only gave up after the third goal. I can do everything but if the players are not mentally stable there is nothing you can do. Antwi was doubtful but we forced him to play,” Zito explained.

Reacting to claims that the Dreams FC lost due to stage fright, Karim Zito said, “We never had this type of situation before. We didn’t panic even after their first goal. You could see we pushed and created a lot of chances.”

“I noticed that against Berekum Chelsea. I have been working on that since. I don’t want to say the defeat was as a result of tiredness,” he said.

Adding, “It’s not stage fright, if that was the case, it would have affected us in Cairo. My boys never thought we could get into this situation. In Cairo, the atmosphere was bigger than today,” he stated.
