Wonders, they say shall never end.
Today, the NPP are telling Ghanaians to embrace tax increases because that will get them roads, hospitals, schools, water and others. Today, Mrs Ursula Owusu Akuful is telling us taxes bring development and Ghanaians should welcome the 50% increase on communications. She knows that now?
Today, the Minister for Education, Deputy Minister for Finance and the Minister for Finance are telling Ghanaians that it didn’t matter what anybody said on the 2016 campaign platforms because what they said on platforms were not captured in their Manifesto. In other words, we should not hold them to that standard.
Wasn’t it Mrs Ursula Owusu Akuful, who said his 5 year old child could be President, if all John Mahama could do is borrow and develop? Wasn’t if Dr. Bawumia who said borrowing was a lazy way to govern a country? Wasn’t it Nana Akuffo-Addo who said, if elected, he will move the economy from taxation to production? What has become of all those statements? Within three years, they’ve borrowed over GHC80 Billion.
Now in government, they are talking about excess power capacity as a bad thing. These people said the same thing when Kwame Nkrumah built Akosombo dam. They have not changed. Do we know if these NPP thieves know what they are doing? Do they know that the very people they are ruling now were the same people they asked for their votes in 2016? They brought a killer luxury tax, one and so years down the road, they withdrew it and they want Ghanaians to clap for them. What sort of incompetence is that? In fact, the worse thing that has ever happened in Ghana is the government of Nana Akufo-Addo. We could take it like that if they are just incompetent and insensitive, but they are also without principles.
I don’t blame the 53% including A-Plus and Mannese Azure who campaigned and voted for Nana Addo. Most of these 53% have regretted deeply for doing what they did but it is only God who can forgive them for allowing themselves to bring these untold hardships and curses to land of our birth.
