About two months ago, the NPP boasted of having a supermajority in parliament with 169 members as against the NDC with 106 members. Last week, they had to convince themselves that they are still the majority by going to parliament at 2.00am for an event that eventually started at 2.00pm. John Kuffour’s NPP became international ridicule because it is now Akufo Addo’s NPP. Do you see the difference in leadership?
The NPP are struggling to maintain their majority status with the inclusion of the Fomena Independent MP. Before the elections, do we still remember what Nana Akufo-Addo and John Boadu said about an Independent candidate coming out of the NPP?
In part, Nana Addo said he cannot work with an Independent candidate and John Boadu also said the NPP will never accept any Independent candidate who attempts to caucus with them. Do we see how the NPP is an unprincipled and a disgraceful party all the way to the top? Arrogance and stupidity made them to think 169 majority was forever. Today, both Nana Addo and John Boadu are begging the Fomena MP just to be part of them. Who said God no dey? Naniama.
Did we see the international embarrassment Dr. Bawumiah and his family brought to Ghana during the temporary swearing-in ceremony? The NPP in an attempt to kick Dr. Bawumiah out of their 2024 Presidential race, brought Mrs Samira Bawumiah to the event but gave the name of Mrs Ramatu Bawumiah to the Speaker to announce.
Dr. Bawumiah has been hiding his first wife, Ramatu since he married Samira but it was the same NPP who brought that secret out. The main reason the NPP did that is to knock off Dr. Bawumiah from public appearances and so far, the Alan Kyeremanteng faction is winning. Unless the Friends of Bawuah do something about it, their dream of having Dr. Bawumiah as NPP’s flag bearer for 2024 is over.
The leadership of the NPP both at the National and Regional levels are taking consolation from the fact that they might have won the Presidential elections but events after the December 9, 2020’s declaration show that Ghanaians didn’t vote for Nana Addo. As a matter of fact, Ghanaians voted massively for change.
They did their part. The Electoral Commissioner also did her part by rigging the elections for Nana Addo. The ball is now in the hands of the Supreme Court Judges. All that Ghanaians are asking them to do is to ensure that their votes are counted as enshrined in Ghana’s constitution. Nothing more, nothing less. So help us God.
