The role of Gabby Otchere-Darko has come in the news again for giving Ghanaians the information no one knew except those running the country from Gabby’s home. Gabby comes in when the name of Nana Akufo Addo is involved in a deep scandal that he, Gabby thinks he should have covered it up but failed to do. He comes to throw something out there that makes the situation even more worrying.
The NPP told us they had a better deal with Ameri and that they were extending the contract for 15 more years for an amount of $1.2 billion. The NDC emergence price was for $500,000. The NPP contract got the seal of the President and submitted to parliament for passage. The minority in parliament held up the documents for some days because they realized all was not well with the renegotiated deal with Ameri. When the government was pushed for further clarification, it was Gabby Otchere-Darko who announced to the world that the President was misled on the contract. At that time, nobody knew the President had been misled but the President was deeply involved in the scandal. The contract has since been pulled from Parliament.
Then came the scandal involving Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) and the President. When the pressure got mounted on the government to arrest NAM 1 and ensure that depositors get their money back, NAM 1 was nowhere to be found so people started looking for him with the issuance of bench warrant. I still don’t know whether that bench warrant is fake or real and why at this time. (I wouldn’t be surprised if the warrant was issued from the home of Gabby) This was the time Gabby Otchere-Darko came in and gave us information that made the whole scandal more worrying. Gabby told Ghanaians, and want us to believe that NAM 1 was arrested by EOCO to help with the investigation but unfortunately, NAM 1 broke bail and has fled the country. Then you ask yourself, under what condition was NAM 1 granted bail? So as we speak now, NAM 1 is not even in the country. Hmmmmmmmm.
You see, this is where I blame Ghanaians and their accountability of this government. When Gabby first told us the President was misled on the Ameri deal, what became of that statement? Who was held responsible for misleading the President? The same people who advised the President on the Ameri deal are the same people around the President now. Don’t mention Boakye-Agyarko, because he was just sacrificed for the mass disgrace at the Presidency. Now we are told NAM 1 has fled the country and so people should go about their normal duties. No one should worry about it.
NAM I has broken bail and the head of EOCO is still at post. The head of CID is still at post. The head of security at the airport is still at post. The head of immigration is still at post. Anybody responsible for making sure that NAM 1 never leaves the country is still at post. After all these have taken place, you come and tell us we have a country with a government? What is the government made of and who is in charge of that government? If Nana Addo is not involved in this Ponzi scheme , do you think such a major flop in government would happen and the head of all those institutions will still be at post? Or is the NPP telling us, in Ghana now, you can commit any crime and just get away with it because the country lacks leadership? The role of Gabby Otchere-Darko in this administration is very worrying and so should you be, as a citizen of Ghana. As a Ghanaian who qualifies to vote, let’s end all these nonsense in 2020. We can’t afford this one-week, one-scandal government go past 2020. The disgrace is enough.
