Parliamentary candidate aspirants on the platform of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, were cleared after being vetted by the vetting committee today.
Those screened were the member of parliament for the area, Agness Naa Momo, and the young philanthropist’s veteran politician, Madam Korklu Dorcas Afotey, along with three others to contest its primaries.
Answering questions from correspondents, Madam Korklu Afotey revealed that “the exercise was peaceful and accommodating.”
Speaking to the chairman of the vetting committee, he said all the aspirants metthe basic constitutional qualifications to contest the election, but those cleared were taken based on their ability to lead, background, experience, and understanding of Krowor politics.
He added that the other criteria for the aspirants’ clearance include their ideas as to how issues, difficulties, and the rest can be addressed and how the constituency can move forward to begin a critical consideration.
Madam Dorcas Korklu, speaking on her chances in the forthcoming parliamentary election, said what the Krowor NDC wants is change, and no amount of intimidation or money can change the people’s wants.
Reports have it that the young philanthropist will be the second person on the ballot.
Thousands of men, women and Children including the party’s delegates in Krowor stormed the streets to cheer the presumptive member of Parliament for Krowor adding that, she is the best person to lead the party.
