The founder and leader of True Christ Followers Church at Dome – Afghanistan in the Dome Kwabenya constituency, Apostle Joshua Lamptey Mills has admonished the youth to desist from allowing themselves to be used by politicians as tools to perpetrate political violence ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Speaking to this portal, Apostle Joshua Lamptey was critical about the exploitation of youth, especially, those in Zongo communities to do the bidding of politicians during elections.
He warned them to be careful and not to allow politicians to ride on them to gain political power before, during and after the December polls.
He further called on parents to advise their wards to be mindful of unscrupulous politicians who might want to use them to foment trouble during election day.
“It is rather important that one strives for personal development as governance, since time immemorial, has been known to be abused by some leaders,” Apostle Lamptey Mills stated.
The man of God urged Ghanaians to put their best behaviours on when they go to the polling stations to cast their votes. He said voting is one’s civic right and must be exercised without intimidation.
In a sermon to sensitize the youth and Ghanaians, the man of God gave three meanings of peace. He said peace is freedom from war, harmony and a state of tranquillity.
“Ghana is going to the polls to elect leaders in the December presidential and parliamentary elections the onus rests on every Ghanaian to ensure peace,” he noted.
According to Apostle Joshua Lamptey Mills, underdevelopment and retardation that have characterized many African countries are because of the actions of unscrupulous politicians.
He noted that the narrative would remain unchanged if the youth were not conscientious enough to fend for themselves outside the circles of political influence.
