The Non-Aligned Voters Association of Ghana(NAVAG) has urged the citizenry to avoid fascinating doubt in the judiciary to adjudicate justice where justice is evidently clear based on proper presentation of facts and evidence.

According to the group, one major point of worry to many Ghanaians is whether the supreme court judges will be fair and impartial as many of them were appointed by the ruling government .

A statement signed and issued by the President of the Non aligned Voters Association said, “The bus of justice finally stops at the law courts for all other things to be considered and determined. NDC under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, has resorted to the house of justice for better determination of the outcome”.

“Our judges did swear to uphold and protect the constitution of Ghana. They are men and women who has spent a lot of time , effort and resources including sacrifices to reach where they find themselves today. Integrity and impartiality has become part of their profession therefore we should give them the benefit of the doubt and they will not disappoint Ghana”, they stated.

This follows the petition filed by the Leadership of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) to challenged the legitimacy of the just-ended 2020 presidential election results after the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa, declared the incumbent Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the President-elect of the fourth republic.

They believed that the judges can never entertain any decision that has the potential of causing chaos and violence out of their judgement.

NAVAG is also pleading with political actors and the media to resist statements and pronouncements which is prejudicial to the issues before them. They has Ghana to protect and not a political organisation which has the potential of dissolution whilst Ghana shall remain Ghana even after wars, they noted.

“The Non-Aligned Voters Association of Ghana(NAVAG) wish to express our faith in our judges and hope Ghana will remain peaceful after their judgement and pray God to strengthen and guide them in the discharge of their historic test, the statement read.

HOPING FOR JUSTICE, NAVAG.

The election 2020 has come and gone but without the usually calmness and the spontaneous outpouring of congratulations to the president-elect from well meaning individuals , corporate institutions and world leaders .
The few which has come did so with tortoise pace which signifies all was not well as the main contender rejected the verdict.
The Electoral Commission did declared the verdict and the incumbent President became the President-elect. President Nana Akuffo has been declared the winner for the second term to administer the affairs of the Ghanaian citizens and their socio-economic wellbeing.
The main opposition party did not accept the results as declared by the electoral body citing a lot of inconsistencies in the tabulation of votes casted in its favour.
As usual, when results are deemed to be manipulated, the losers get to the street to express their disappointment of the outcome which is also their constitutional right to register their grievances. We therefore saw some demonstrations across the country but peace did not elude mother Ghana. Go to court became the common parlance and greetings as though the supposed losers never knew they have an option at the law courts.
The bus of justice finally stops at the law courts for all other things to be considered and determined. NDC under the leadership of former President John Dramani MAHAMA, has resorted to the house of justice for better determination of the outcome.

This where the NON-ALIGNED VOTERS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA ,NAVAG wishes to draw the attention of Ghanaians. NAVAG wish to remind its members and Ghanaians in general not to entertain lack of confidence in the judiciary to adjudicate Justice where justice is evidently clear based on proper presentation of facts and evidence.
Our judges did swear to uphold and protect the constitution of Ghana . They are men and women who has spent a lot of time , effort and resources including sacrifices to reach where they find themselves today. Integrity and impartiality has become part of their profession therefore we should give them the benefit of the doubt and they will not disappoint Ghana.
They have not only the responsibility of ensuring justice prevails but they have conscience too, they can never entertain any decision that has the potential of inviting chaos and violence out of their judgement.
They knew very well and better than we the Ghanaians that a little slip of justice has the potential of destroying the democracy, the unity and the peace of Ghana which they are part as well.
NAVAG is also pleading with political actors and the media to resist statements and pronouncements which is prejudicial to the issues before them. They has Ghana to protect and not a political organisation which has the potential of dissolution whilst Ghana shall remain Ghana even after wars.
Our judges would also ponder on the outcome of Malawian court which has won their Malawian counterpart international respect and national trust and would like to put Ghana first without fear or favour irrespective of who appointed them to the high office.
The NON-ALIGNED VOTERS ASSOCIATION OF GHANA, NAVAG wish to express our faith in our judges and hope Ghana will remain peaceful after their judgement and pray God to strengthen and guide them in the discharge of their historic test.
Long live NAVAG,
Long live Ghana.
Signed,
President ,
NAVAG.
