Prof. John Gatsi, Dean of UCC School of Business

Political lackeys of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been warned from their attack on the Dean of School of Finance of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. John Gatsi, over his view that the government’s digitization campaign risks irrelevance if it is not tailored to advance livelihoods.

A statement from one Kwame Aratui revealed how a certain Mr. Osei Darko who is described as an “attack dog,” had launched verbal attacks on Prof Gatsi.

“If Mr. Osei Darko thinks insulting Prof. Gatsi is equal to reducing hardships, income erosion, high cost of energy and fuel then he should go ahead,” Aratui wrote.

According to reliable information picked up by Whatsup News, Vice Bawumia has not been particularly happy about how Prof. Gatsi basically has dismissed Dr. Bawumia’s digitalization as mere lofty dreams.

The UCC Dean of the School of Finance had pointed out in a write-up that the digitization drive risks becoming irrelevant if it is not linked to livelihood improvement through Agriculture, health care and job creation.

Meanwhile, in reacting to the attacks, Prof. Gatsi is reported to have said he is not surprised because raising factual livelihood issues makes a mystified digitalization pale.
