The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has held a pull-out ceremony in honour of DCFO Richard Gibril Nuhu (ALJ), the immediate past Greater Accra Regional Fire Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The ceremony was held at the Regional Headquarters at Korle Bu in Accra on January 26, 2023.
According to the Greater Accra Regional public relations officer, DCFO Nuhu’s working experience as a Fire Officer spans over 30 years, during which he held many Command positions. He has served as Regional fire Commander in the Oti and Greater Accra regions from 2019 to 2021 and 2021 to 2023 respectively.
The Mayor of Accra, Hon. Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, in her farewell speech commended DCFO Nuhu for his dedication and commitment to the GNFS over the decades and urged other officers to emulate him.
DCFO Nuhu on his part was full of appreciation to the Greater Accra Regional Fire Command and Management for the honour done him. He urged personnel of the service not to relent on their oars but rather continue to be loyal and committed to course of the service.
“DCFO is credited with bringing some innovations into the service. Notable among these is the transformation of the UCC fire station by ensuring the initiating and ensuring the construction of the administrative block, fire code and profile for the fire station. He also initiated a strict maintenance culture to bring back most broken-down fire appliances and vehicles on road to ensure rapid response to emergencies in the Accra Region”, it added.
DCFO Nuhu was presented with citations, a plaque and other gifts for his invaluable contribution to the service.
The service wished him a long and healthy retirement. “Congratulations DCFO Nuhu! Best wishes for a long, healthy retirement!”
