[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Principal of Dambai College of Education in the Volta Region, Mr. Musah Yamba Issahaku has constituted his own ‘College Council’ and interview panel at the blind side of the Minister of Education, Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh and the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE).

The actual College Council, which was constituted by the previous NDC government chaired by Mr. Perry P.K Ofosu has been dissolved following the transfer of power from the NDC government to the NPP government in January this year.

Mr. Issahaku has been accused of allegedly sacking and instigating the transfer of some of his staff who disagreed with this leadership style since he took over the management of the college in 2011.

[ads1]Speaking to Awake Investigates at Dambai, the Principal denied the allegations, saying those staffs who are spreading all the falsehoods that “the college has no driver, administrator, bursar, accountant etc” are doing so because he (the principal) is firm on exposing and fighting against their corrupt acts.

According to the principal, the college’s administrator, internal auditor, bursar has all been transferred by the Ghana Education Service (GES). He added that based on the vacant positions, he has advertised the various positions in the Daily Graphic on February 1, 2017 for which interested applicants have applied and have been shortlisted for an interview.

When Awake Investigates asked if the staff search is being done in consultation with the College Council, he said yes.

“Yes, I have a council” – he said

Hardcore information available to Awake Investigates indicates that an interview was conducted today May 12, 2017 at Dambai College of Education in which members of the interview panel include the former Chairman of College Council- Mr. Perry Ofosu, the College Vice Principal- Ms. Veronica Kluyigbor, Mr. Sebastian Sokah – former bursa of the college who has been transferred to Greater Accra and Mr. Jerry Sarfo – Coordinator of Colleges at NCTE .

According to sources, the interview panel was chaired by Mr. Perry Ofosu.

However, Mr. Ofosu declined comment when he was contacted by Awake Investigates for his reaction on the matter.

Awake Investigates has gathered that the Council of the various tertiary educational institutions will now be constituted by the President Akuffo-Addo’s government.

It is being alleged that the college principal and this team are doing the recruitment exercise at the blind side of the Minister of Education, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh and NCTE to help them cover up their past.
