A Magistrate Court has cleared Naira Marley and three others of any involvement in the death of Afrobeats artist Mohbad.

Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje dismissed claims linking Naira Marley, music promoter Sam Larry, Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, to the tragedy.

However, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has instructed that Mohbad’s auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, and his friend, Ayobami Sadiq, be prosecuted for reckless and negligent acts under Lagos State’s criminal laws.

Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, at 27. His sudden death sparked controversy, protests, and calls for a full investigation.

Initial reports suggested that Mohbad fell ill after receiving an injection from an auxiliary nurse for an ear infection.

However, his death raised suspicions, especially with videos showing him in distress prior to passing and allegations of bullying, threats, and assault from former associates, including Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
