The Management of the John Gatsi Educational Foundation has postponed its 11th Educational Awards initially scheduled for March 20, 2020 indefinitely.
In the statement to all Heads of Schools in the Ketu Municipality in the Volta Region on March 13, 2020, the Examinations Coordinator, Mr. Prince Bright Attatsi said “We write to inform all heads, teachers, parents and the general public that the management of John Gatsi Educational Foundation in consultation with the Municipal Director of Education of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, has postponed the 11th John Gatsi Educational Foundation Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Friday March 20, 2020.”
According to him, “This decision became necessary as a result of the current developments regarding the concerns about the spread of the corona virus in the country and the precautionary measures of the Ghana Health Service on public gathering.”
Ghana has recorded six reported cases of the deadly corona virus forcing the President of Ghana to on March 15, 2020 declare all schools closed and all social gathering suspended for the next 4 weeks.

CORONAVIRUS IN GHANA: 11TH AWARDS CEREMONY POSTPONED TILL FURTHER NOTICE
We write to inform all heads, teachers, parents and the general public that the management of John Gatsi Educational Foundation in consultation with the Municipal Director of Education of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, has postponed the 11th John Gatsi Educational Foundation Awards Ceremony, scheduled for Friday March 20, 2020.
This decision became necessary as a result of the current developments regarding the concerns about the spread of the corona virus in the country and the precautionary measures of the Ghana Health Service on public gathering.
However, this does not mean that the deserving students and teachers will not receive their awards as scheduled.
Management has put up an alternative plan to get the awards to the deserving students and teachers through their various institutions should the current development persists.
Meanwhile, the following teachers are shortlisted for the Best Teacher Award Category;
1. Charity Love Soadzede of Eleme Sovie MA Basic School
2. Rejoice Sadzo of Penyi A.M.E Zion Primary School
3. Victor Nanewortor of Tadzewu ARS Primary School
4. Agnes Ama Lumor of Afife RC Primary School
5. David Kofi Dzemeshie of Tove Saint Mary Anglican Basic School
Only three of the shortlisted teachers will be selected and awarded on the awards day.
