Members of Coalition of Muslim Journalists have congratulated the Vice President and the newly elected flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party NPP Alhaji Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia on his victory to represent the NPP in the upcoming 2024 general election.
The group also commended the electoral committee of the party led by the former Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Aaron Quaye, delegates and all stakeholders who ensured a smooth, free and fair as well as incident free Presidential primaries.
In a statement signed by the President of the Coalition, Abdallah Sham’un Bako stated that the NPP has indicated its continuous stand in promoting democracy in the country by providing a level playing field for all candidates in the just ended Presidential primaries.
The group urged all aspirants to come together and support the newly elected flagbearer.
They also called for unity within the rank and filè to ensure unity in the party.
The group further commended Dr. Bawumia for his efforts in ensuring the creation of the Zongo Development Secretariat which has over the years sought to bring development and progress to the people Zongo across the country.
The Zongo Development Secretariat under the leadership of Hon. Ben Abdallah Banda has provided scholarship for over 30 Muslims to Cuba to be trained as Medical Doctors.
The group again commended the Vice President for promoting religious tolerance and well as strengthening a peaceful co-existance among Muslims and other Religious groups in the country.
