Shatta Wale, also known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has slammed the Communications Minister and the President over the Independence Day free data bundle packages.
He firmly believes that Ghanaians do not need free data, but rather real opportunities to improve their lives and create wealth.
Shatta Wale argued that while the government provides these bundles, they are likely using public funds to enrich themselves, while the people continue to struggle.
He expressed his frustration in a social media post, saying, “This is not what Ghanaians need massa… You didn’t even say 1000ghc for every Ghanaian and small time you will be planning to buy properties abroad… Next joke please!” He emphasized that Ghanaians need money, not gimmicks.
The Communications Minister, Sam Nartey George, had announced that the government directed telecom companies to offer a GHS10 bundle with 6GB of data instead of the usual 1GB or 3GB on holidays, but Shatta Wale believes this will not change the lives of the people.
