Former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei, has categorically denied rumors that she will be contesting for a parliamentary seat in the upcoming election.
She stated that her commitment to remaining independent from political parties was behind her decision not to participate in the elections.
Speaking on Accra-based Happy 98.9 FM, Madam Osei disclosed that she was not a registered member of any party and had no intention of joining one, thereby putting to rest speculation about her potential political ambitions.
Since her departure from the Electoral Commission in December 2018, Madam Osei has been the subject of much speculation, including rumors about contesting for a parliamentary seat on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
However, the former Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education stated that she has no intention of pursuing a political career, ending any rumors or speculation about her future in politics.
