The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has scheduled October 9, for the draw of the African Nations Championship 2024 Qualifiers at 11:00 GMT.
CAF has stated that it will soon reveal the details and procedures for the October 9th draw. The countries selected to host the tournament are Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The tournament is expected to start on 1st – 28 February 2025.
The first and second round of the qualifiers will be played on 25 – 27 October, 01 – 03 November 2024 and 20 – 22 December, 27 – 29 December 2024 respectively.
Unlike the CAN – the Confederation of African Cup of Nations which comprises of professional players from a particular country (both home based and foreign based players), CHAN is a tournament tailored by CAF for only home based players or players who play only in their domestic leagues, also known as the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship is abbreviated as CHAN.
It is an African association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), it was started in 2009.
