Member of the Communications Directorate of the College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), Fedelis Kamai, has said that government’s posture indicates that they are not ready to strike a deal to end their months-long strike.

According to him, whenever they [CETAG executives] go to meetings with government representatives, to try to find a solution to the association’s industrial action, their conducts and utterances don’t help.

Speaking on The Pulse program on JoyNews, on Wednesday, August 14, Mr. Kamai said, “[government’s] actions and inactions does not support what he is saying we have been on strike for God knows how many days now, and when we go for negotiation, sometimes the comments that they make and things they do, does not suggest that they are really ready to ensure that we go back to school.”

In recent times, the Education Ministry has been pleading with CETAG to end their industrial action which came into effect on June 14.

Two month down the line, no signs show that the strike will soon come to an end as both parties could not reach a deal all this while.
