During his visit to oversee the MMDCE confirmation process, Minister Eduamoah highlighted the Assin South District as a prime example of a deprived area lacking development, despite having an NPP Member of Parliament who served as Deputy Minister of Education.

“Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has been a Member of Parliament for the Assin South Constituency for over eight years and a deputy Minister of Education, yet nothing better went on in the district,” he said.

Hon. Eduamoah assured the chiefs, elders, and residents of Assin South that under the John Dramani Mahama administration and the National Democratic Congress, the constituency would experience significant development.

Newly confirmed DCE for Assin South District, Hon. Jonathan Birenkorang, expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust placed in him.

“I commit to leveraging my expertise to align with the President’s development agenda, aiming to bring lasting improvements to the district,” he said.

Hon. Birenkorang promised to complete abandoned projects initiated by both the NDC and NPP governments and introduce NDC policies to create jobs for the youth. He also pledged to collaborate with chiefs in decision-making for the district’s betterment.

On behalf of the chiefs in Assin South District, Okofo Kodwo Bi Benti II, Chief of Assin Darman, appealed to Hon. Birenkorang to utilize the MP’s common funds effectively for development.

“Assin South has lacked in terms of development; hence, we advise the newly appointed District Chief Executive to make good use of the MP’s common funds in terms of allocation,” he said. The chief also urged Hon. Rev. John Ntim Fordjour to seek development for the constituency.

The Assin South District Chief Executive received 100% endorsement from all assembly members after a successful vetting, while Sylvester Amakye Nyarkoh received 100% confirmation in the Assin North District.
