Sarah Adwoa Safo has strongly criticized Mike Ocquaye Jnr, accusing him of disrespecting her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, and using divisive tactics in his campaign. In an interview on Movement TV, she made it clear that such disrespect would not be forgotten by her father’s followers.
She recalled Ocquaye Jnr’s disparaging remarks about her father, claiming he “stays in the bush and weeds there” and “hasn’t been to school.”
Adwoa Safo questioned how such statements could inspire support, noting that her father is highly revered, and any disrespect towards him would lead his followers to withhold their votes.
Adwoa Safo also pointed out that Ocquaye Jnr had tried to pit their backgrounds against each other, suggesting voters choose between a man with a professor for a father and one with a farmer for a father. She criticized this approach, stating that it would only alienate voters rather than attract them.
She warned Ocquaye Jnr that arrogance and disrespect would lead to political failure. “If you don’t humble yourself before the people of Dome Kwabenya, you will contest a hundred times and still lose,” she said, stressing that the people of the constituency value respect, not money.
The political rift between the two appears to have deepened, with Adwoa Safo emphasizing that respect is key to earning public trust and support.
