A minister of state at the presidency, Mr. Rockson Bukari has resigned over allegations of an attempt to bribe a journalist to kill an investigative story.

The Starr FM’s Upper East regional correspondent, Edward Adeti is said to be investigating a Chinese mining company, Shaanxi Mining Ghana Limited, and a most senior judge in the Upper East region, Justice Jacob B. Boon.

Last week, Ghanaians were shocked with a leaked a tape which sought to suggest that implicating Mr. Bukari in an alleged coordinated plan by people in high places to drop an undercover report carried out by the Starr FM journalist.

The former Upper East Regional Minister has since denied the content of the tape saying he was making peace with the journalist and not an attempt to bribe him.

A statement from the presidency on Monday, April 29, 2019 said Mr. Bukari has resigned and president Akufo-Addo has accepted his resignation.
