Breaking News: 8 remaining Volta separatists granted bail after over 2 months of detention

A group of eight (8) people who were among members Homeland Study Group Foundation arrested in May this year in Ho, in the Volta Region over their plan to secede from Ghana have been granted bail and released from police custody, Awake News can confirm.

The eight together with their over the 80year old leader, Mr Charles Kormi Kudjordjie were by armed military men attached to the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho but have since been detained in Police custody for the past two months 2day for failing to meet the bail condition.

Their leader was earlier in May granted a bail bond of GHS250,000 with two sureties.

The eight this morning were said to have met the bail condition after Mr. Lincoln Woyome from South Tongu District served as surety for 4 of the 8 after declaring assets of GHc100 000.00 for each.

One of the members of the group, Papa Hogbe who spoke to Awake News from the CID Headquarters confirmed the release.
