Both NDC and NPP MPs occupies majority side of parliament

Members of parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and that of the New Patriotic Party that has arrive in parliament this morning has all occupied the majority side on the floor of the house.

Numbering about fifty (50) members of parliament from the NDC and about Five (5) NPP MPs are in the chamber currently. Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson is seen occupying the seat of the majority leader and his deputy also occupying the majority deputy leader’s seat.

Some prominent members of the NDC MPs that has occupied the majority side of the house are, Hon. Mahama Ayriga, Hon. Dominic Ayine, Hon. Kwame Governs Agbodza among others. Some NDC MPs have moved their names tags from the minority side to the majority side of the house.

The few NPP MPs who are in the house, including Frank Annoh Dompreh have also joined in the majority side of the house.

However, the NDC Leadership has stated that whichever decision the speaker declares when he is seated will be obeyed by their side.

The NPP Frank Annoh Dompreh has indicated that any conflict or casualties that arise on the floor today shall be the fault of the Speaker, Right Hon. Alban Bagbin who is refused to obey the ruling of the Supreme Court.

The speaker declared four seats vacant following some MPs crossing carpet or running independent in the upcoming general election.

This declaration led the then majority leader Afenyo Markins to obtain an injunction from the supreme court pronouncing a stay of execution on the speaker’s declaration.

The speaker is yet to confirm service of the injunction and also declare his stance on it.
