In a response to reports of a vote of no confidence in him by lecturers at the Ghana School of Law, the Director of the Law School, Kwasi Prempeh Eck is putting the blame on lecturers.

At a meeting with students on Tuesday the director blamed lecturers for the disconnect between the lecturers and the Independent Examination Committee.

He said “In 2015, as Council (General Legal Council) we decided to decouple the teaching and conduct of examinations in the school. This got my lecturers aggrieved and they decided not to mark the papers again…….this is the genesis of all the problems we are facing now”.

He further stressed that he was working hard to resolve all those issues but he failed to give timelines when pushed by the students to do so.
His statement was a result of the furry of students who believed that most of the problems that contributes to high failure rate of students in the school needs to be urgently addressed but the management of the school is doing little to address that.

Even though the exams of the law students are conducted by an independent body, students of the school don’t get to see any examiners report and marking schemes to guide them.

Pressure keeps mounting on the Director of the school as the lecturers passed a vote of no confidence in his leadership just last week.
