Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), reminding Ghanaians of his previous warning regarding the power crisis ahead of the 2024 elections.

Speaking to supporters during his thank-you tour, Bawumia reiterated that the NDC is synonymous with “dumsor” (power outages), claiming that the party cannot resolve the ongoing energy crisis.

He recalled telling Ghanaians that the NDC and power outages go hand in hand, a statement many dismissed at the time.

However, Bawumia now asserts that the people have learned the hard way, with the NDC’s return to power worsening the electricity supply issue.

He emphasized that a 24-hour economy, a key promise of the NDC’s administration, is impossible to maintain amid persistent power cuts.

He pointed out that the power supply was more stable under the previous administration, which had successfully managed the energy sector for eight years.

Bawumia’s remarks highlight the growing frustration with the NDC’s inability to tackle the energy crisis, urging the public to hold them accountable for the worsening situation.
