Bawumia commends firefighters for handling Kumasi market fire

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has praised the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) for their swift and effective response to the recent fire that ravaged the Kumasi market.

The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday, 21 March, in the Adum area of the Ashanti Region, destroyed numerous shops and left many traders devastated.

During his visit to the scene on Tuesday, 25 March, Dr. Bawumia lauded the fire service for their prompt action, calling it a “yeoman’s job” that prevented further property loss.

He emphasized the importance of well-coordinated emergency responses in such critical situations.

In addition to praising the firefighters, Dr. Bawumia extended his heartfelt sympathies to the affected traders and assured them of his continued support as they work to rebuild their businesses.

He also presented an undisclosed amount of money to help them recover from the tragic incident.
