Mr. Kofi Bentil

The Senior Vice President of IMANI-Africa, Kofi Bentil, has called on the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, to declare his position on the preservation of the Achimota Forest.

Mr. Bentil acknowledged that recent revelations about the capture of state lands have extended to the Achimota Forest but added that “Bawumia is in favor of saving it not selling it”!!!

“Let the others also declare their support for the forest remaining a forest” he challenged other flagbearers.

Kofi Bentil reiterated “Achimota forest is at risk of being stolen. I’ve fought to preserve it. It’s time to see others join to protect it. If we don’t it will be gone soon!”

It can be recalled that the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has been at odds with the Lands Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, stating that there is a “firm conclusion that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government is deliberately refusing to disclose the status of all public lands in our country because they are complicit. They know that when the full facts emerge, they will be exposed for the massive land grabs and unquestionable state capture they have engaged in”.
