Former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, made a surprise visit to the Adum Market in Kumasi on Tuesday morning to offer his support to traders affected by the devastating fire that broke out last Friday.

The fire ravaged several shops in the Central Business District, destroying goods and properties worth millions of cedis and leaving hundreds of traders struggling to rebuild their livelihoods.

Upon arriving at the market, Dr. Bawumia, visibly saddened by the scale of the destruction, interacted with the affected traders and expressed his heartfelt sympathies for their loss.

As part of his support, he donated GHȼ200,000 to help the traders recover and begin the long process of rebuilding. He also provided 1,000 bags of cement to assist in the reconstruction of the burnt sections of the market.

The traders were overwhelmed with gratitude, and many gathered around Dr. Bawumia to thank him for his unannounced visit and timely assistance.
