The former President of Ghana and flagbearer aspirant of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Mahama has once again called on Ghana Police to investigate and prosecution of the “offenders” of brutalities and violence during the 31st January 2019, By-election in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in Accra.
According to Mr. Mahama in a Facebook post, sighted by Awake News, “The brutalities and violent actions of January 31 in Ayawaso West Wuogon were criminal and to the extent that the perpetrators are known, the police must investigate and prosecute the offenders”.
He posted one of the videos capturing the brutalities on some Ghanaians by some masked armed men in a vehicle branded with Ghana Police logo saying “Here’s one of 3 major videos I presented in my Wednesday meeting” with the diplomatic community in Ghana.
For him, “These videos are widely available to the public on social media”
John Mahama has widely been criticized for his meeting with the diplomatic community in Ghana with Senior Mister, Yaw Osarfo Marfo being reported in the media to have said he [John Mahama] should stop painting Ghana black to the international community.

Mr. John Mahama since the day of the By-election violence which has left about six people sustaining various degrees of injury from gunshots and beatings has been on the neck of government to bring the perpetrator to book warning the NDC will match the NPP boot-for-boot in 2020.
President Akufo-Addo following public outcry to bring the men who the Ghana Police has since denied knowledge of to book constituted Presidential Commission of Enquiry into the matter but the opposition NDC has sent a strong signal they will not participate in the seating as it will only result into given immunity to the offenders to escape from prosecution.
