The deplorable state of road networks within Avatime Gbadzeme and its surrounding communities in the Volta Region has forced the chiefs and residents to embark on a construction exercise.
The residents and their chiefs have organised communal labour to fix their bad roads which have been abandoned by governments despite several appeals coupled with promises during electioneering periods.
According to them, there have been numerous requests for the government to help them construct the road from Fume to Gbadzeme but were ignored.
The delay in constructing that stretch of road is becoming dangerous, particularly when it rains and the resident fear motor accidents may be on the rise as the wet season approaches, hence their decision to fix part of it with their own money.
