The Municipal Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal, Michael Awuku Amoah, has tasked Assembly Members in his Municipality to support in revenue generation to enhance developmental projects.
He opined this amid the first General Assembly meeting of the year, held on Monday, April 19 to assess work done in 2020 and evenly approves the financial budget for 2021.
In an interview with Boss fm Kwame Nyame, he asserted that the assembly cannot always wait on government for resources to developed the area, hence the need to collect revenues internally to ensure sustainable development.
” If we don’t roll out plans to collect levies to progress, we will lag behind, thus charging the Assembly members especially the zonal councils and unit committee members to involved themselves while embarking on this expedition to amass funds for development”.
Meanwhile, the Assembly member for Afari Electoral Area, Nelson Antwi, inclusive other Assembly members largely lauded the move, articulating, “it would go a long way to quicken developmental projects in the area” .
