Same Controversial AKER, on Wednesdays May, 1, ASEPA released documents to the Media suggesting that, Government( the Finance Minister and the Energy Minister) has taken a Petroleum Agreement to Parliament on Tuesday, April, 30 and is putting pressure on Parliament to pass the agreement by Friday May, 03.
ASEPA said it is concerned about how all our oil blocks are been dished out to AKER as if AKER is the only oil exploration and drilling Company in Ghana.
ASEPA also noted, the new wells which government of Ghana want to dish out to AKER cheaply is a very potential well that could fetch GNPC millions in revenue.
ASEPA is also worried that Government in selling our oil blocks cheaply to AKER, it is AKER who is also calling the shots and forcing Government to improve the existing agreement with AGM and give them the same terms and conditions as the ExxonMobil deal which ASEPA believes does not satisfy the National Interest.
ASEPA has also resolved to go to Court to place an injunction on the sales of those oil blocks to AKER if government does not withdraw the deal from Parliament.
