AS Roma has sacked Daniele De Rossi as head coach of the first team following a poor start to the season.
The club legend was appointed in January 2024 as a replacement for José Mourinho.
Roma has not won any games so far this season, having recorded three draws and one loss. This performance places them 14th on the Serie A table. The team has managed to score a total of 2 goals since the start of the season.
A statement from the club read, “The club’s decision is made in the best interests of the team, to get back on the desired path as soon as possible at a time when the season is still in its early stages”.
The team further expressed its gratitude to De Rossi for his contribution to the club saying, “A heartfelt thank you to Daniele, who will always be at home at the Giallorossi club, for the work he has done in recent months with passion and dedication”.
The communiqué finally highlighted that in due time “communication regarding the team’s technical guidance will follow”.
