The Anlo Senior High – ANSECO@60 Medical Team has conducted Free medical screening, NHIS registration /renewal, blood donation, a health walk and health talk exercise on the 7th -8th March 2019 in Anlo as part of activities to commemorate a successful anniversary celebration.

Senco Homes

The exercise was organized by all the old students in the health sector (from the 1950’s till date). The team comprise consisted doctors, nurses, midwives, biomedical scientists, optometrists, public health personnel in collaboration with the National Malaria Control Programme, Keta Municipal Hospital, Anlo Clinic and the National Health Insurance Authority.

The two-day program saw more than 3000 people consisting community members, current students, teachers, old students, politicians, chiefs, opinion leaders, the clergy, celebrities, entrepreneurs etc who all partook in the programme, thus making the programme a great success.

Some of the services provided included free eye, ear, nose and dental screening, blood pressure monitoring, body mass index ( BMI) measurements, Rapid diagnostic tests (RDT for malaria) blood sugar monitoring to confirm diabetic status as well as free medical consultations and medications for participants. Health talks were also given on Diabetes, Hypertension, hepatitis B, teenage pregnancy and drug abuse since it continues to form part of re-emerging health conditions of the 21st Century.

The team took this initiative upon itself since it viewed this endeavour as a way of giving back to the society and also to consolidate the efforts being made by the Ghana Health Service to alleviate and reduce the prevalence of the above mentioned conditions.

Individuals win trophies but teams win championships. Thanks to all the team members especially our sponsors and those who worked behind the scenes to support us to make this exercise a success. Another big thank you to the Anlo traditional council, the school, management, the Ghana Police service and the media for their immense and diverse contributions.

Finally, our warmest appreciation to the inhabitants of Anlo for their hospitality, co-operation and participation in the exercise. God bless Mother Ghana. God bless us all.

The grand durbar comes off on the 1st June 2019 at Anlo Senior High school in the Volta region
