AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine in Ghana has begun construction of a sophisticated examination printing center in the Obuasi East District, with the goal of improving education in the area.
In keeping with the company’s 10-year socioeconomic development plan, the project aims to increase the pass rate of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the host communities. This 2022 strategy focuses on various activities to improve education and support socioeconomic growth.
According to Emmanuel Baidoo, Senior Manager of Sustainability, the Examination Producing Center will support the Education Directorate of the Obuasi East District Assembly in producing and administering mock exam materials, assisting applicants in efficiently preparing for the BECE.
The GH800,000 initiative was formed via stakeholder interactions to support the periodic mock examinations held in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service.
Faustina Amissah, Chief Executive of the Obuasi East District, commended the idea, emphasizing the financial relief it provides by redirecting monies formerly allotted for practice tests to other essential endeavors.
Bachor Constructions Limited, a local company, will carry out the project, which is scheduled to be finished within the next three months.
It will include a storage area, an office, production and printing space, and a borehole.
