Ghanaian rapper Amerado has revealed he holds no grudges after losing out to Stonebwoy at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) in the Reggae Song of the Year category.
In an interview on Hitz FM on Monday, June 2, Amerado shared that although he expected his track “Ankonam” to win, he fully accepted the result, describing “Psalm 23”, the winning song, as one of his favourite works by Stonebwoy.
“I expected Ankonam to win the Reggae Song of the Year, but it went to Stonebwoy, which is also fine because Psalm 23 is one of my favourite songs from him,” he said.
Amerado, who earned three nominations at this year’s TGMAs, admitted he was particularly optimistic about winning in that category.
However, he also expressed disappointment over the exclusion of his song “Abronoma” from the Songwriter of the Year category, a recognition he strongly believed it deserved.
“I was expecting to be in the Songwriter of the Year category with Abronoma, and up to now, it still amazes my mind why I didn’t get in there,” he said. “It’s one of the most well-written songs of the year.”
Despite the snubs, Amerado remained upbeat and appreciative of the recognition he received, adding that he would continue to focus on making meaningful music for his fans.
