The Central Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu, has slammed Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame for doing everything to incarcerate Cassiel Ato Forson. He said the actions of the government’s Attorney are diabolic but will fail to implicate the Minority Leader.

According to Prof. Kofi Asiedu, the pronouncement by the third accused, Richard Jakpa at the Accra High Court reveals the shameful acts of the Attorney-General. He labelled the actions as despicable and undemocratic.

Addressing the media on Friday, May 24 2024 at Cape Coast, Prof. Asiedu stated that the government’s deliberate attempt to incarcerate the hard-working MP for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency will never succeed. He said the NDC is ready to meet them squarely in this legal battle.

“This revelation goes to confirm legitimate and long-held suspicion of the devious modus operandi of Godfred Dame and the government he represents,” Prof. Asiedu.

Prof. Asiedu stressed that the NDC monitor everything and will not allow the government to manipulate the process to falsely implicate Cassiel Ato Forson.

He expressed worry over what he described as persecution against the Minority Leader. The Regional Chairman added that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration is truly undermining the integrity of the judicial process for political purposes which is inimical to the progress of the country’s judicial system.

In a show of solidarity, Professor Richard announced a move to storm the court in the next sitting on the case to give unflinching support to the embattled MP.
