It appears President Akuffo Addo and his top officials desire to pack the government with their children, close relatives, friends and even ex-partners will never come to an end despite the outrage from the General Public.
The latest to join the list is Miss Maatta Opare, a daughter of Akufo Addo’s Chief of Staff, Frema Osei Opare. Ms. Opare has been added to the Board of one of the most important state institution, the Electricity Company of Ghana.
According to reliable sources at the Flagstaff house, many are not too excited at the decision because they believe Hon Frema Osei Opare has performed abysmally as Chief of Staff but is only using her position to cause within the government.
According to our source, the Chief of Staff wants her daughter to become the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, a constituency she was an MP for 8 years.
Her daughter’s addition to the ECG come as a surprise to many who know her but it appears it is to prepare her for her parliamentary contest.
The Akuffo Addo government has been severely criticized for their nepotism after several close allies and relatives got appointed to very critical positions.
President Akufo Addo himself appointed his daughter to the Creative Arts Council and the about 46 of his appointees are said to belong to his family.
