Mr. Akoto Ampaw, Lead Counsel for President Akufo-Addo who is the second respondent in the 2020 Election Petition hearing has objected to more than half of the entire 3rd Witness statement filed by the Petitioner.
Mr. Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo became the 3rd witness to file a witness statement at the apex court to testify in support of John Mahama who dragged the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, and President Akufo-Addo to the Court challenging the declaration made by Jean Mensa that President Akufo Addo won the December 7, 2020 polls.
Mr. Mettle-Nunoo wants to demonstrate that the EC Chair acted in bad faith when she asked them [Presentatives of the Petition in the EC Strong Room] to go and have a meeting with John Mahama to find a solution to their concerns raised in the strong room only for her to announce the results behind them when they objected to some of the figures from the regional level.
However, in yet another dramatic hearing at the apex court today, Mr Akoto Ampaw objected to paragraph 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, 25, and 26. Out of the 32 paragraph Witness statement.
This means that 22 out of the entire original 32 paragraphs were objected to by the lawyer of the 2nd Respondent.
The hearing is still in session with lead lawyer of the Petitioner Tsatsu Tsikata arguing why all the 32 paragraphs of there Witness statement should be upheld as evidence.
Stay tuned.
